Great 14 mile drive north on Cave Creek Road to enjoy the desert views, at Carefree and Cave Creek itself there are a range of art galleries and restaurants and the iconic Boulder Resort.
Especially great drive during the spring when the Arizona wildflowers are in bloom. This should be a good year with lots of rain, the desert is very green.

Great set of easy to moderate hiking trails directly north, it is about a 15-20 minute drive on the scenic part of the Cave Creek Road on the way to Carefree and Cave Creek. Especially great when wildflowers are blooming in the spring.
This set of trails is also commonly used for horse back and mountain biking so keep alert on the trail. There are bathrooms but no drinking water, nice size parking lot.
