The house was rebuilt in 1893 on the birthplace of Thomas Boston, a famous 18th Century writer, clergyman and influence on Robert Burns and is a listed building.

The recently refurbished cottage is well equipped and has everything you'd need for a relaxing break in the countryside. Bring your wellies, hiking boots, suncream and swim things (who knows if it will rain or shine) and enjoy all the beautiful hill, forest and river walks around Shannobank. The coast is only a 15 minute drive if you fancy exploring caves, beaches and cliff tops.

Come and relax in the woods with a book or grab your hiking boots or bikes and explore the surrounding countryside. We're a 20 minute drive from the coast which has stunning cliff top walks and beautiful little bays and fishing villages.
