Very large living space, open fire & spacious kitchen indoors, & slate patios with seating outside. It's less than a 10 min drive to the south shores of lake Coniston as well as the lovely market town of Ulverston. A fantastic base to explore the Lakes. The house is raised above a main road with parking on a side lane so there is some traffic noise and care has to be taken on the road.

Waterside house is an ancient farmhouse which sits in a large garden surrounded by fields and woodland, it has belonged to the Finsthwaite estate since it was build in 1580 . Its historical character is shown in the large fireplace and the beams, which add to the charm. Waterside is known as the home of the “Finsthwaite Princess”. who was the alleged illegitimate daughter of Bonnie Prince Charlie. She lived in three rooms on the first floor which were panelled out of scotch pine for her.
