VE Farm

Enjoy the sounds and sights of nature when you stay in this unique place. Our small house is our place of respite as we develop our farm. It is full of many luxuries and a well appointed kitchen to allow for a very comfortable stay. There are views of our farm and the surrounding area from every window and the window above the bed is perfect for stargazing at night from the comfort of your bed. We have many animals on including water buffalo, goats, pigs, and chickens so always something to see.

Welcome to Indigo Woods Retreat! Our historic cottage is nestled in the woods just up the road from Roanoke and Salem on top Burkett Mountain. We are next to a >1400 acre nature preserve with 5 miles of trails. Appalachian Trail (McAfee Knob), Blue Ridge Highway, Smith Mountain Lake, James River, wineries, breweries, shopping are close by. 18 min to Roanoke College and 40 minutes to Virginia Tech.
