Oakbrook Akers Lakeside Cabin Retreat

Located in the heart of the country, Oakbrook Akers Cabin is an absolute retreat! Relax on the many porches overlooking the pond, take time to meander to the docks to fish, enjoy s'mores over the stone fire pit or spend the evening at the grilling station in our covered patio. In the winter, tuck yourself away in the cozy cabin complete with a wood burner, having a movie or game night (with popcorn of course)! Come experience sleeping in a cave without actually roughing it! Located in the back of the Hobbit, the Cave has its own private entrance under the leaf canopied patio. *Please no smoking of any kind in our home or near the door *($250 fine)* You will be greeted by a lantern hanging among the stalactites and vines and a set of stairs leading down into the cave. An indoor gas fireplace, a 50" smart TV, full kitchen, tiled shower, & queen memory foam mattress all guarantees a magical stay!

The Depot B & B: A Peaceful Retreat

Just minutes from campus, downtown, and the airport, The Depot is a historic home attached to 5 wooded acres, a lake, and a "big sky" view across the prairie for watching sunsets and night skies. Originally a train depot constructed in 1857, it has been fully modernized for contemporary living. However, we have taken great effort to preserve its rustic charms that Abraham Lincoln would have known during his circuit riding days before the Civil War. These include graffiti from 1917.
