This bright and cozy house with a semi-open kitchen and a sunrise terrace offers a beautiful panorama view over rice fields. Although in the countryside, it´s located only 15 min away from Jogja´s city center. We are a German-Indonesian family living nearby who has been in love with this area for years. The chill wind in the fields – the “Sawah Breeze” – and the soothing sounds of nature invite you to unwind and forget about everyday life. A healthy, homemade breakfast is included.

Welcome to Joglo Gumuk, our small retreat space in the village Gendeng, surrounded by tropical gardens and overlooking the rice fields, just 8 km south of Yogyakarta. At the heart of Joglo Gumuk are two traditional Javanese wooden houses, each with its own character, and a movement studio where we host yoga, movement classes and small retreats. Rent is for the entire house. It's a good settling point whether you just seek to relax and breathe fresh air of the countryside/ enjoy the paddyfield scenery, or if you plan to explore the new & hip northern side of Jogja, or if you plan to head out to Borobudur.
