The River Room has one queen bed, private bathroom with tub, a desk, large closet, and a view of the Presumscot. This is the most desirable room in the Elms. Historic Building, built by a renowned architect, originally served as a luxury Maine resort to entice business to the local mill. Located throughout the second and third floors of the building, our Historic Queen rooms feature an inviting queen bed fitted with French bedsheets and Cuddledown quilts and pillows. Highlighting original, historic elements of the building, these rooms each boast a unique floor plan and offer plenty of space for guests to stretch out after a day of exploring Portland. Bathrooms are complete with glass-enclosed standing showers and spa-like amenities.

The Crow's Nest

Our Crows Nest Suite, located on the second floor, features a generous oak wet bar, counter seating for two, and an oak paneled built in sectional sofa that can double as a sleep area for one adult or two small children. Skylights fill this space with natural light and offer birds eye views of the Observatory.
