Stanwix Cottage dates back to the 1650s when it was part of the coaching Inn which is now the Crown and Thistle. It has been recently fully renovated and is an ideal comfortable base to tour the City of Carlisle, Cumbria, including the Lake District or Southern Scotland. It has three reception rooms including a conservatory overlooking the lovely enclosed garden with patio and three bedrooms, one ensuite. It is within walking distance of the city centre and Rickerby Park and the River Eden.

Windy Hall is somewhere very special. High in the Pennines it offers one of the most magnificent views in England. You may want to stay and enjoy the peace & quiet, but we are ideally placed for trips west to the Lake District, east to the magnificent cathedral city of Durham, and north to Hadrian's Wall. It's unusual in that you have to walk the last 240 metres to the house, though we will bring up your luggage in our 4WD. But don't let this put you off; please just read our reviews!

We are dog friendly! We are also child friendly! Ghyllie Cottage is a two bedroom, two bathroom cottage that is over 200 years old! Wetheral is just 3 miles from junction 42 on the M6 and the village has great amenities including a Village Shop and post office, Cafe, and a great pub just across the road! Wetheral Railway Station is a short walk from the cottage with regular trains to Carlisle and Newcastle. Easy access to Gretna Green, the Lake District, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Comfortably sleeping four (plus infant), in two double bedrooms, one with ensuite cloakroom, the house has a kitchen/dining/living space, cosy living room and spacious garden, with very little light pollution, ideal for star gazing. Ample parking Perfect for exploring the wildlife of the Solway Coast, the City of Carlisle, Gretna and the Lake District.

The Stables at Bankshill is a self contained cottage with king bedroom and large sofa. Private garden with patio and decking area with Scandinavian hot tub and outdoor kitchen . Dog Friendly. We also have The Firkin Hell, a private pub on site which you will get exclusive use of during your stay for music, karaoke, darts and retro games machine. BYOB as we are unable to sell alcohol.
