Diekirch- Luxembourg Beauty at the Gehlen Inn

We are a small acreage just 15 minutes from Iowa City, 7 minutes from Solon, and 30 minutes from the Cedar Rapids airport. Our converted barn is at the back of the property, behind the house. There is a separate road leading back to the barn for super convenient parking. It’s rustic, cozy, warm and inviting.

Clara sleeps up to four guests in two queen size beds in the sleeping room that features hardwood floors, picture molding, and a large front window that opens onto a quiet street for those who enjoy night breezes. Our 3 bedroom hilltop 1950’s home with wonderful views of the capital and city of Des Moines is the perfect place for your stay. Nestled just south of downtown in a quiet historic Italian neighborhood, you are within walking distance from a world class brewery, bars, restaurants and miles of walking and biking trails surrounding Gray’s Lake. We are within a few miles of everything else that the downtown area of Des Moines has to offer!

Iowa House Room 101

The Iowa House Historic Inn, built in 1924, was converted from the Delta Chi fraternity house in 2008. Massive renovations turned this frat house into a charming 15 room bed and breakfast. Room 101 at the Iowa House. This is our first floor, handicap accessible room, just off the dining room. It is our only room with hardwood floors.

Apartment is attached to garage, ground level entrance with no steps so is handicapped accessible. Decor is rustic, full kitchen and loft. Bathroom has a walk in shower. Futon and window seat on ground level and double bed in loft. Washer and dryer provided. Small cabin nearby with bunkbeds and a cot for sleeping. No bath.
