The Vardo - a charming bohemian caravan

Stay overnight in a vardo, a unique and charming bohemian-style caravan inspired by 19th century English and Irish shepherd's huts. This cozy space sleeps 2 people and includes a cooking facilities, indoor and outdoor seating and free firewood. The bath house has includes a modern composting toilet, solar shower stall and hand/dish washing station. We are located close to wineries, state parks with gorges & waterfalls, lakes, the vibrant city of Ithaca, Cornell University and Ithaca College.

This newly-renovated, air conditioned 1953 D&H railway baywindow caboose features barnwood wainscoting, tiled shower, bunk beds, futon, sofa opening to double bed, and kitchenette. The rural property 7 miles outside of Ithaca is one mile from Robert Treman State Park where you can swim beneath the waterfall. Cultural attractions in downtown Ithaca and Cayuga Lake recreation are a quick 10 mile drive.
