The surroundings offer natural woods and trails, where you will have endless walks and cycle rides throughout some of England's most stunning countryside. A wonderful habitat for birds, deer, ponies and donkeys. There are many local pubs, restaurants, coffee shops for those valuable lunches and evening meals.

Built in 1840 to house workers making bricks this charming extended semi-detached cottage has been lived by the same family of New Forest commoners for the last 50 years. There are pubs and restaurants within walking distance ( The White Hart, The Coach and Horses, Le Chateau Bistro.) 4 miles to Lyndhurst, Highcliffe castle beach, Steamer Point, Mudeford approx 30 mins drive. Southampton, Salisbury .Bournemouth all close by.

The Coach House with walled garden

Our converted coach house offers a cosy corner in the busy village of Downton from which to visit the historic cathedral city of Salisbury and the open spaces of the New Forest. Parts of the property date back to 1475 with links to the Bishops of Winchester. There is plenty on offer in and around the village, with local shops, gardens, pubs, walks and bicycle rides along the River Avon. Bournemouth beaches are not far away. We welcome dogs (please see info regarding fee).

New Forest cottage by the green

Bramblings is in a magical position, at the edge of Lyndhurst, on the green and just over the cattle grid. It is just a short walk in to Lyndhurst for restaurants, cafes and shopping and there are great walks and cycling direct from the house. Remember to keep the gate shut whenever you are coming and going as the ponies, donkeys and cows are free to meander just outside and they are always keen to help themselves to the greenery in the garden.
