This beautiful rustic single storey traditional 18th century cottage, built from local pink sandstone, was bought by my father in 1986. I've been going there since I was 7 years old. It's in an isolated tranquil location with beautiful views of the Lowther Hills, and a ruined castle and loch a 10 minute walk away. A great area for walking, cycling, fishing, bird watching etc. It has a separate office with hill views, bike storage, open fire, and recently refurbished kitchen and bathroom.

NB: The barns opposite have recently been purchased and will be restored in due course, so daytime building works are possible. Our Bothy is a beautifully restored one-bedroom cosy and welcoming retreat in a peaceful setting, surrounded by an acre of meadow and hills. Just over a mile from the ducal village of Thornhill’s shops, cafés and pubs. Full of original character, it is an immaculate, fully equipped and comfortable base for relaxing, walking and exploring scenic Dumfries and Galloway.

The peaceful garden with riverside strolls beside Shinnel Water is shared with the owner who lives in an adjacent cottage. Big windows make for bright rooms and look out onto large expanses of lawn, a pond and small river (both unfenced). NOTE – The garden is not enclosed and has an UNFENCED pond and river. Small children must be supervised.

The Steading Cottage

The Steading Cottage at Holmhill was once the stables and groom’s quarters to the elegant Georgian main house built by the Drumlanrig Castle Estate. It offers a cosy and beautifully appointed country retreat with breathtaking views over the beautiful Nith Valley and surrounding farmland, renown for its walks, wildlife and fishing. Stunning 3-Bed Rural Cottage

Prince’s Cottage is the old Shepard’s house and was originally made for the Prince Family. A 3 bedroom cottage that has been renovated and has the most amazing views. It is nestled just off the dead-end road that goes up the glen. It has its own little garden which is great for a dog to run around, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you need to make a feast after a day outside and when you are done you can sit by the log burner to play games at the end of the day.

Mary Queen of Scot's chamber at Neidpath Castle is perhaps the most romantic place to stay in the Scottish Borders. Explore privately the whole castle and then retire to enjoy your suite rooms. The antique four poster bed, deep roll top bath and open fire evoke earlier times, but are truly comfortable and luxurious. An elegant table is set for breakfast. Peebles is 10 minutes walk away, with a host of shops and restaurants, as well as a museum and award winning chocolatier.

Welcome to our idyllic riverside cottage. Nestled in the picturesque Dumfries & Galloway countryside and set on the banks of Cairn Water. The area is rich with wildlife. Red squirrel, deer, kingfisher, woodpecker, red kite, buzzard and otter are just a few of the local visitors spotted from our garden. Stepford Station Cottage is the perfect cosy retreat for nature lovers. We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs at no extra fee.
