The Orchard Cottage

Located on the verge of town, you will find The Orchard Cottage, a tranquil self-catering cottage with onsite secure parking and a private entrance. The veranda with build-in braai allows for an authentic Karoo experience and the ideal opportunity to appreciate the spectacular night sky.

This lovingly restored cottage, built in 1878, is nestled on the Coetzee family’s 4th generation working ostrich farm in the small Karoo valley of Kandelaarsrivier. Huis Kandelabra is just outside Oudtshoorn on the main route to Mossel Bay. The surroundings of Karoo koppies, the Kandelaars River, neighbouring farmlands, ostrich camps and views of the Swartberg and Outeniqua Mountain Ranges all add to this stylish, yet quaint cottage’s unmistakable charm.
