The cottage reminds me of the way coastal homes used to be: simple ; yet, thougthfully integrated into the environment. This is a true {mid-century modern} historic and classic cottage. It was built in 1956 by Frank Stick. Frank was a local artist and developer and started the “flat-top” movement in Southern Shores. We have worked hard to modernize this classic and bring it back to life with some fun twists! The porch is our favorite feature. It is 1200 sq feet of screened in, relaxing bliss. Outside family dinners and corn hole tournaments are our family’s way of relaxing at this sweet cottage!

It is an older cottage (including two original bathrooms) but is colorful with beachy decor-a true original beach box. Avalon Beach Cottage OBX (Walk to Pier + Beach)

The cottage is located 3 lots from the ocean in the Avalon neighborhood near the Beach Road. It is 2 blocks from the Avalon Fishing Pier and Awful Arthurs Restaurant. It is a great area for biking. It is located near KMart and Food Lion. There are many restaurants, stores, Putt Putts, Jet Ski and Parasailing Rentals, and Jockey's Ridge Sand Dunes are close by for kite flying and Hang Gliding Lessons.
