The cabin will sleep 4 people but is best for 2 people. Gas log fireplace, central heat and air, washer and dryer and a small kitchen with new appliances. The Penland School of Crafts is 3 miles away and the beauty of the campus can not be beat. We are halfway between Boone and Asheville for all that these two towns offer.

A cozy 2-bedroom guest cottage convenient to downtown Spruce Pine. Super close to multiple coffee shops, restaurants, shops, galleries, a park, and local events. A grocery store and gas station is nearby. Easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Penland School of Craft, lots of hiking. Only about 35-40 minutes from Sugar Mountain. Beech and Appalachian are other ski areas, but they are a bit further away. Linville Gorge, Grandfather Mountain, and Mt Mitchell are easily day hikes.

After exploring artist studios, gem mining, river rafting, hiking mountain trails, dining at local restaurants, or a day of shopping, return and relax on our large wrap-around front porch and wait for the fireflies to appear.

“House in the Woods” a Dog Friendly Cozy Retreat

Escape to a cozy dog friendly private basement apartment only minutes from Blue Ridge Parkway. Enjoy morning coffee on your private patio, unwind in a spacious two-level apartment, and bring your dog along for the adventure. Fully stocked, thoughtfully designed, and perfectly located for hiking, exploring, golfing or doing absolutely nothing. Regrettably the apartment is not child proofed therefore, for safety reasons, we are unable to accept children under 4.
