The Pinon studio log vacation cabin rental is situated along Bear Creek Canyon at an elevation of 4800 feet. Our southwestern New Mexico location, with its near perfect weather year round is hard to beat! Average 280+ days of sunshine, stunning blue skies and 7"-13" of rain annually provide milder summers and winter weather folks from up north dream about while shoveling snow! The Pinon Log Cabin is our version of a comfortably furnished, rustic studio-type vacation rental perfect for a single or a familiar two. With approximately 430 square feet, this little cabin is big on ease. Unexpected beauty is hidden along the valley where Bear Creek meanders. Sitting at the end of a well maintained 4 mile dirt road, you will find our 360 acres in southwest New Mexico surrounded by ancient cottonwood, Pinon and sycamore trees. (GPS: 32.969224, -108.525218). This "end of the road" cabin along with our 4 other rustic properties, will satisfy your need to disconnect, escape the cold, the crowds, the stress. The quaint Village of Gila is a 10 minute drive away and offers a medical clinic, library, post office, art gallery and is truly the "Gateway to the Gila Forest". Still convenient to major shopping in Silver City, NM and an easy 35 minute drive, you'll enjoy browsing a variety of shops, antique stores and boho, silver, turquoise homemade jewelry bodegas. You'll find a long list of of things to do and see: day or evening fine dining or fast food; multi-cultural cuisine or eclectic funk, Western New Mexico University, our local Farmers Market, theatre, an annual Fiesta, Little Toad Creek Brewery & Restaurant, art galleries, or antique stores (check out Manzanita Ridge)!! Day trips to big cities such as Tucson AZ, Las Cruces NM, and El Paso TX are easily made. Fully furnished, perhaps our personal favorite, the kitchen features custom-designed Italian stone counter tops, a 4-burner stove top, microwave, two apartment-sized refrigerators, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, toaster oven, crock pot/slow cooker, blender, dishes, flatware, cooking pots, utensils and a dinning bar with stools where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. For your convenience, the pantry is supplied with complimentary items such as gourmet spices, condiments, small amounts of sugar, coffee creamer, tea, cooking oil and spray, pasta, rice, microwave popcorn, canned meat chunks, foil. A few miles from your cabin you'll find our local convenience store/gas station stocked with fresh dairy products, eggs, ice cream, bread, canned fruits and vegetables, frozen meat, lunch meat, soda, snacks - open 7 days a week. The hotel quality queen bed beckons you to sleep in just a little longer than usual, all snuggled-up in the luxurious Egyptian cotton linens. The radiant, in-floor heating will keep your toes nice and warm on chilly mornings and, if you are here during the warmer months, you can count on the Air Conditioner to keep you cool! The living area in this quaint little gem features a comfortable Italian leather love seat with matching easy chair with plenty of throw pillows. There is a chest of drawers and vintage cedar armoire. This cabin also boasts a full bath, with shower and tub, and for the evenings when the star-studded sky isn’t quite enough entertainment, there is also a TV/DVD library. Uncover their history through pottery pieces, ancient tools, pictographs and remnants of stone dwellings which can still be readily found along Bear Creek. Introduce yourself to the more recent legendary characters who roamed the hills, mountains and towns in this area, including Billy the Kid, Geronimo, and Ben Lily. South-West style marks out the interior, with a big brick surround showcasing the welcoming kitchen. This house is a newly renovated historic home from 1941! The Boho/Southwest home is completely remodeled offering all the amenities you may want or need for a comfortable stay - with a central location near the airport, convention center, sports arenas, Tempe Town Lakes, ASU hiking and lots of restaurants and bars. There are two bedrooms with beds and two bathrooms in the house, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families. This house is situated in a landscaped oasis with plenty of indoor and outdoor amenities to make your stay enjoyable. Inside There are two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms that you can use. There is one bedroom and a few closets that we use to store our stuff and those will not be available for your use, but all other spaces are yours. The living room has a flat screen TV with Netflix, Amazon TV and Hulu with fast wifi. Outside The patio allows for dining under the lights, and lounging in the hammock. Fast WiFi reaches throughout the entire place, including the outdoor patio and porch areas. Please let us know if you would like to use the gas grill. On hot Arizona days, we recommend taking a dip in the stock tank pool (closed during fall/winter). The backyard is a shared space. We also Airbnb the back guest house and you could be sharing the backyard with other guests. No Parties Aloud! For check-in, we'll give you a code to the lockbox to get the keys and you can arrive anytime after 3pm and check yourself in. Please put the keys back before checking-out at 11am. While we will not be at the house during your stay, feel free to contact us with any questions! We live right down the street and if you need anything you can call or text us. We also have a lot of local recommendations to share. The neighborhood is very centrally located, within walking distance of many sought-after restaurants and bars. Stroll in one of the local parks, and by Tempe Town Lake, just a mile away, before hunting out some bargains at Tempe Market Place. Getting around is extremely simple. Walk, bike, light rail, or uber. Being in the heart of it all makes transportation a breeze. The back guest house is also on Airbnb. You may be sharing the backyard with another guest. Sit out in the backyard then come indoors to relish leafy views from a triple-aspect living room. The apartment has a cottage feel with window boxes and wooden fittings. A hanging plant, and white linens provide a calming feeling. Awake to the songs of birds and explore our 1/2 acre of fruit trees, vegetable beds, and landscape. Yet most of San Diego’s attractions are just 5 to 10 miles away. The new kitchen is included in your space so you can prepare your own meals if desired. Cooking equipment included are a convection toaster oven, coffee maker, hot pot, a microwave, and an induction plate, pots & pans, kitchen tools, cutlery and dishes. We also provide coffee, tea, sugar, salt & pepper, cooking oil, and ice. This space is attached to our main home but you’ll have your own separate entrance and private kitchen/ living, bed and bath. We'd love to greet you and show you around when you arrive, but if we happen to miss you will have your own unique door code to get in. We’ve prepared a binder of information for guests and can help you plan for best use of your time. However if you prefer to be on your own we’re fine with that too. We have walked to downtown or to the nearest trolley, but unless you are walkers and out for exercise, you will probably want a car. There are now lots of bikes available for rent, but it will be uphill to get back to the house. Some of our guests have chosen to rely only on Uber, in which case grocery and/or meal delivery are helpful. If you have an afternoon or evening flight you are welcome to store luggage at our house after your 10 AM check out. We are in a hilly residential area with stores, restaurants and bus/ trolley access about 2 miles away, so you'll have the most flexibility if you come by car. If you choose to Uber, you can order groceries or takeout meals to be delivered.
