The Hanging Rock Cabin at Luna's Trail

The Hanging Rock Cabin is a rustic cabin with lots of living space and amenities. The best feature is the beautiful view of Hanging Rock. The property is on 350 acres, and there are hiking trails and multiple watercraft on the pond. Our restaurant is available Thursday - Sunday. Reservations are recommended but not required for on property guests, and can be made by contacting the owners. There are sometimes large, private events downstairs. Please ask ahead if one may affect your visit.

The Rock Retreat

This beautiful log cabin, previously known as Indian Creek Cabin, has been an important part of the Hanging Rock Community for many years. It began as the Hanging Rock Outdoor Center. The property is adjacent to the Indian Creek Trail area. It is within a few miles of the Lower Cascade Falls, Dan River, Moore's Spring bike trails, and of course, Hanging Rock State Park. Adventure awaits with ziplining, kayaking, canoeing, and river tubing excursions within minutes of the front door.

The Cabin on Big Creek is a unique spot, peaceful and private, with singing water on three sides. The creek is wide, easily accessible, kid-friendly. Queen bed and double futon. Minutes from Hanging Rock State Park, paddling, mountain biking. Also adaptable to groups. To be clear: this is a hybrid between comfort and “glamping.” No WiFi, no cable, no TV. The hot & cold water sink and shower are outside. The toilet is clean outhouse. Bedding is provided, bring your own towels

Relax with your coffee in one of the rocking chairs on the porch, or overlooking the property on the spacious deck. This property includes 16 acres with hiking trails that lead to a 1/2 acre pond. Fish the pond and have a picnic in the peaceful setting. You are close to many outdoor recreation areas including Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Parks and the Dan River.

Fall is quickly approaching and with it comes lots of festivals! Local state parks and lots of hiking available! Come enjoy this peaceful piece of mountain living. You will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere with neighbors hidden by the woods. You will have the entire upper level including an open loft with plenty of games, books, and toys. The wildlife is plentiful this year with lots of deer and wild Turkey roaming around! The sunsets are amazing!

We hope that while you are here you will enjoy everything our local area has to offer. State Parks, Farms, Wineries, the Downtowns of Pilot Mountain and Mt. Airy, and the Historical Parks like Rock House and Horne Creek Farm.

Just built log home is wheelchair accessible with porch and deck views of Sauratown and Hanging Rock Mountain. Dogs are welcome and there is NO PET FEE! We have seasonal berries and a well-stocked fishing pond. Visit the state parks then come home to catch a breeze on the porch swing, watch fireflies or roast hotdogs at the fire pit.
