Canyon Creek Cabins: #2

This small cabin for two is perched on a granite ledge, overlooking a rushing river. It is comprised of two small structures connected by a deck. The first structure is a converted shipping container that has a kitchen, bathroom, living room, and outdoor patio. The second structure contains a cozy sleeping cabin, glass sunroom, and stone fireplace. The hot tub is nestled in to the woods overlooking the river, accessible by a lighted trail. The area: The cabin is a one hour drive from Seattle, and just minutes outside of Granite Falls, WA. This area is often refered to as the gateway to the Cascades, and the cabin is just a 20-minute drive to some of the best hiking and most beautiful natural features that Washington has to offer. Some of our favorite hikes include: Gothic Basin, Big Four Ice Caves, Mt. Pilchuck Fire Lookout, Lake Twenty-Two, and Heather Lake. Our cabins are in a small and private community. While we encourage guests to visit the nearby park and to explore the trails on the Cascade Loop Highway, we ask guests to please refrain from wandering the private roads of the community, as the neighbors appreciate their privacy. Frequently Asked Questions: Do you allow dogs? — Yes. We are dog friendly, but do not allow other pets. Can I check-in early or check-out late? — No. Our cabins are often booked back-to-back, and our cleaners need time to prepare the cabin for the next guest. There is not a good area to hang out in while the cleaning is being finished so it's best to arrive at check-in time. What's in the kitchen? — The kitchen is small and stocked with the basics: stovetop, microwave, pots, dishes, spices, dry goods. One thing to take note of when planning your meals is that there is not an oven at this cabin, however we do have a BBQ grill. What's the coffee situation? — We keep Stamp Act coffee, an electric grinder, and a stainless steel french press at the cabin. What's a good restaurant or bar nearby? — We recommend spending as much time at the cabin and in nature as possible. So, plan to bring food and drinks with you. Local favorites in town include Omega pizza (takout pizza and salads) and the Spar Tree (local bar).

McKenzie Bridge River House near Sahalie Falls

Drive down a long private road, set off of the HWY, to find a riverfront cabin amidst the lush Willamette National Forest. As you wind through the driveway you will find a sanctuary for relaxation, recreation, and comfort. A trail from the back deck will lead you down to the bank of the emerald waters of the McKenzie River. The McKenzie River Trail parallels the property, and is accessed from the private road to the cabin. The property has a campground setting, with river and forest views.

The cabin’s translucent pop-up window opens into a covered awning, giving you a front-row seat to the forest, no matter the weather, while the mosquito netting keeps the bugs away. Once tucked back into the woods, this newly improved 1920s cabin now enjoys a front-row seat to the grandeur of the Hood Canal thanks to a tidal creek that has washed away the sandy soil that once supported the departed trees. Winedown is a beautiful, constructed A-Frame built in 1967 and completely renovated in 2019 tucked in the North Cascades. As dawn turns to daybreak, there’s nothing more pleasant than being drawn from slumber by the sun light springing through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows and the sound of gushing water from Boulder Creek echoing through each surface of the property. Winedown is proudly a family-focused property that is scent and shoe free.
