Dive into the plunge pool with sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea. For adventurous travelers who will appreciate the 10-minute panoramic walk to the house (we will transport your luggage and groceries by tractor). The magical view of the world below with the coast on the horizon which can be enjoyed from every room of the house and from the entire olive orchard with its walking paths and plunge pool with waterfall. Being a pedestrian village, Metato is quiet and peaceful. Yet, the beach and many great places to visit are a short drive away- Pisa, Florence, Lucca, the marble quarries of Cararra, Pietrasanta, Viareggio.... Guests have exclusive access to the pool and property. Metato is a friendly litttle village in the hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. There is a quaint family-run restaurant in the village that serves local homemade dishes at a very reasonable price. Our pedestrian village tends to attract kind people in search of peace and quiet and a proximity with nature. Time seems to go by more slowly here. It is a perfect base for families who want to explore Tuscany and the beaches of the Versilia coast. The home is in a beautiful, quiet location on a hill surrounded by olive orchards and vineyards just a 10-minute walk from the parking lot. Explore the medieval village of Metato where fireflies and breathtaking views await. Take an invigorating hike or head to the beaches a short drive away. There is a parking lot at the base of the village where you can park the car. The village itself is pedestrian but I am happy to greet guests at the parking lot on their arrival to transport their luggage, groceries and whoever wants to ride to the house with my little Italian tractor! The nearest airport is Pisa (45-minutes by car). All the major car rental places can be found there. The nearest train station is Viareggio.

Hill Top Retreat

The cottage is located in the reknowned "Val Graziosa" (Pretty Valley"), famous for its olive groves and production of exquisite olive oil. Once a watermill, the structure was recently converted into a stylish summer house and accommodates up to 6 people. The cottage unfolds between many levels as it conforms to the landscape. It is completed immersed in the nature, featuring views over the hills and the coast. Pisa, Lucca and Versilia are within very short distance, with Florence only 1hr away.

The property is surrounded by a 10,000 sqm garden with olive trees and fruit trees and a swimming pool (14x7 m) for the exclusive use of the guests.

A breve distanza dal mare e dalle stupende città di Lucca, Firenze e Siena.

Dépendance immersa nel verde

Il rumore di un ruscello vicino al giardino in cui è immersa la casa. Il piccolo borgo in cui si trova, circondato da monti con sentieri in cui passeggiare respirando la natura e la città di Pisa a dieci minuti per visite culturali e il mare a venticinque. La casa si trova nel centro storico del paese ed è composta da un'unica grande stanza, con camino, cucina indipendente e divano letto. Ideale per due persone che vogliono godersi un romantico soggiorno.

Castel San Giorgio

Fu costruito sulle rovine della chiesa di San Giorgio Sec. X. E' contornato da alte mura che scendono fino al Rio San Giorgio e che racchiudono un podere di ulivi. Luogo di pace, benedetto tutto il giorno dai raggi del sole, dove rigenerare lo spirito; dove poter "respirare" guardando il silenzioso bosco, avvolti dall'odore di menta, camomilla e finocchio.
