Ippuku

This destination izakaya in the East Bay has yakitori and a good selection of noodles like soba. What I like is the tatami floor—you get to sit on woven mats with your friends around a table, which is very comforting. Take off your shoes, and it’s like you’re sitting around hanging out with friends at a Japanese restaurant. I like to get their soba, and I like ordering their yakitori—I order just about everything there. They even have chicken sashimi! I definitely need to go back and get some.
