This monument is where Texas won its independence from Mexico. It's the world's tallest war memorial —15 feet taller than the Washington monument—honoring all those who fought for Texas's independence. a 220-ton star tops the impressive structure. Within site of the monument is the Battleship Texas which is available for visit as well.
